Sophia Clifton has completed two Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: Health Literacy for Public Health Professionals and Writing for the Public courses in health literacy. She’s working toward completing the remaining CDC courses offered, including Fundamentals of Communicating Health Risks, Using Numbers and Explaining Risk and Creating Easier to Understand Lists, Charts and Graphs.
Sophia is passionate about ensuring our content is accurate, reliable and clear. She’s committed to providing readers with the most up-to-date information possible from the FDA, CDC and other agencies or organizations.
Her goal is to help all readers understand important consumer information, whether they have previous knowledge on a subject or are reading about it for the first time.
Since joining the ConsumerNotice.org team, Sophia has edited diverse content on an array of topics. These include drugs and devices such as Zantac, Elmiron and hernia mesh, as well as environmental products such as Roundup, Paraquat and firefighting foam (AFFF).
Prior to ConsumerNotice.org, Sophia worked as an editor for Liftable Media Inc., a digital media company specializing in lifestyle content and daily news. Sophia holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Grove City College in Pennsylvania, where she gained valuable editing skills both in the classroom and while acting as a student editor for her peers.
