Brendan A. Smith, Esquire
Mass Tort & Product Liability Attorney
Brendan A. Smith is an award-winning attorney and a partner in the Complex Litigation Department at Simmons Hanly Conroy. Since joining the firm in 2012, he has dedicated his practice to representing people who have been harmed through no fault of their own. He focuses on pharmaceutical, medical device and sexual abuse litigation.
“Many of our clients have suffered severe injuries as a result of unsafe products manufactured by national and multi-national corporations,” said Smith. “These companies focus on generating a profit and fail to give the attention necessary to ensure their products are safe for consumers. Their business is lucrative, but it chronically values profits over consumer safety — and these companies must be held accountable for those practices.”
Throughout his career, he has helped more than a thousand clients. He and his team helped recover hundreds of millions of dollars for people affected by Elmiron, Essure, Zofran, testosterone replacement therapy, Xarelto and other pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
Some of the newer litigations he is involved in include Bard PowerPort, Tepezza, baby formula and rideshare/Uber.
Smith is a St. Louis native and the son of two attorneys. He earned his J.D. from the St. Louis University School of Law with a concentration in civil litigation. He received his B.A. in English with a concentration on writing from DePauw University and was on the Dean’s List.
